Transatlantic Notes – Scotland and America’s Shared Musical History

The Centre for Scottish Culture, at the University of Dundee, in conjunction with the AHRI is holding an event curated by Nancy Groce of the Library of Congress in Washington, including a concert by Brian McNeil.

Join us for a unique event featuring an illustrated lecture and a compelling performance exploring 400 years of musical traditions, innovations and transatlantic exchanges.

Brian McNeill, founder of the Battlefield Band, is one of the most acclaimed forces in contemporary Scottish music. Brian will perform his song cycle The Back O’ The North Wind, commemorating Scottish emigration to America.
